2022
The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards
BigChange wins The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Award for Business Enabler Of The Year in November 2022.
This award celebrates businesses that help their customers or clients increase sales and profitability and gain a competitive advantage over their rivals.
The judges were impressed by BigChange’s strong ethos that is built around sound business culture and “design thinking” that has transformed the business over the past year.
Best Companies 2 Star outstanding employer award
BigChange is recognised as one of the UK’s best companies to work by receiving a 2 Star accreditation from Best Companies UK.
A 2 Star accreditation is the second-highest standard of workplace engagement, recognising “outstanding” commitment to workplace engagement.
BigChange receives praise for the fact that staff are encouraged to have their say in all aspects of the company through the BigVoice committee.
GP Bullhound 2022: Northern Tech Awards Top 100
BigChange wins a spot in the coveted Northern Tech Awards of 2022 after achieving 51% growth over the previous year. The awards celebrate the leading technology businesses in the North of England and Scotland.
The Northern Tech Awards are organised by GP Bullhound, a leading technology advisory and investment firm.
2021
Yorkshire Post’s Best Company 2021 £10m-£50m category
BigChange, led by Martin Port, is named a winner in the Yorkshire Post’s Excellence in Business 2021 awards.
These annual awards recognise the best in business across the Yorkshire region.
BigChange is crowned the winner of the £10m-£50m category in recognition of its continued progress during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the growth of its technology abroad.
Queens Award for Enterprise – Innovation
BigChange is delighted to be presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, one of the highest official honours for companies in the UK.
BigChange is praised for its innovative job management platform and how the company adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic.
HRH The Prince of Wales presented BigChange’s Chairman and founder Martin Port with the Award for Innovation in a ceremony at Windsor Castle in November 2021.
2020
IoD’s Director of the Year award for innovation
Martin Port is named a winner in the Institute of Directors (IoD)’s Yorkshire and North East Director of the Year Awards 2020.
The awards celebrate entrepreneurial activity and recognise responsible business practice for the benefit of the business community and society.
Great British Entrepreneur Awards
Martin Port is named a winner in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2020, taking the award for Entrepreneurial Spirit.
The awards celebrate an entrepreneur who leads the way for their business and focuses on getting things done.
Business leaders were recognised for their ability to steer their companies through the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sunday Times Sage Tech Track 100
BigChange lands a spot in The Sunday Times’s 2020 Tech Track 100. The league table ranks the UK’s fastest growing private technology, media and telecoms companies.
BigChange is recognised for its innovative software that connects back offices, mobile workers and customers with features such as job scheduling, vehicle tracking and a mobile app for staff to manage timesheets, expenses and navigation.

The list acknowledges companies that are committed to the wellbeing of their staff.
BigChange moved to a 4.5-day working week in 2019 with the aim of helping staff to take better care of themselves, spend more time with family and friends, exercise, and dedicate more time to hobbies.

Martin Port is thrilled to be named one of the UK’s most ambitious leaders.
The list, compiled by private equity company LDC, champions ambition, inclusion, sustainable impact, innovation and international growth.
Martin’s ambition is to enter new markets overseas and for BigChange to become a tech unicorn worth $1bn.
Maserati 100 Innovators of the year
Martin Port is named one of the Maserati 100 Innovators of the year for 2019.
The list, published in the Sunday Times, praises BigChange’s innovative technology solutions and Martin’s “outstanding” leadership.

2018
IoD’s director of the year award – CSR
Martin Port is named the IoD’s director of the year award in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) category.
The award recognises a leader’s ethos and values, and Martin is praised for his priority to building a happy, loyal team to drive BigChange forward.
Deloitte Fast 50
BigChange lands a spot on the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast50 list for 2018.
Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 is one of the UK’s foremost technology awards programmes, celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship.
Sunday Times Tech Track 100
BigChange makes an appearance in the coveted Sunday Times Tech Track 100, which ranks the UK’s fastest-growing technology companies.
The list is a ranking of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies in the tech space.
2017
IoD’s Director of the Year award (SME) fnalist
Martin Port is named a finalist in the prestigious Institute of Director’s SME Director of the Year Award for 2017.
Martin is nominated in the SME category, which focuses on companies with fewer than 250 employees.
Tech North 12th fastest crowing company 2017
BigChange is named the 12th fastest-growing technology company in the north.
The list, compiled by government-backed Tech North in association with tech investment firm GP Bullhound, ranks 100 companies in the North of England.
KPMG’s best mobile startup (Northern region)
BigChange beats off stiff competition from other mobile technology innovators to be named KPMG’s Best Mobile Startup for the Northern Powerhouse region.
BigChange is also a runner-up in KPMG’s national Best British Mobile Startup, presented at Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest annual mobile industry gathering.
Deloitte Fast 50
BigChange takes 25th place in the annual Deloitte Tech Fast 50, after experiencing 1,095% growth in 2017.
The company is also named the regional winner for the north east.
Martin Port is described as having “tenacity, vision and extraordinary chutzpah” as he embarks on a mission to make BigChange a tech unicorn worth $1bn.

Best B2B digital business project
BigChange is named the best B2B tech business in the Big Chip digital awards for 2016.
BigChange wins the award in recognition of the innovation and potential shown by a new ‘uber style’ on-demand service app to be launched later in the year.
2011
Leeds Jewish pride award
Putting a spotlight on local business heroes in Leeds, the Jewish Community Pride Award is given to Martin Port in 2011.
Martin Port is an active member of the Leeds Jewish Community and has been involved in supporting various events, fundraising campaigns and activities.
IoD’s Director of the Year 2011 national finals
Martin Port is named a runner-up in the Institute of Director (IoD)’s Director of the Year awards 2011.

Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Martin’s strong leadership skills are recognised when he wins the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Technology and Communications in 2008.
The Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards programme is the business equivalent of the Oscars, recognising entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, leadership and vision.
